Privacy Policy

Toroa Family ("we", "us", "our") operates the Toroa app and related services (the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

Personal information you provide. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you set up a family or child profile, we collect the information you enter for that profile (e.g. name, age).

Usage and device data. We automatically collect information about how you use the Service, including device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, and general usage events. This is collected via Google Analytics/Firebase and Sentry (see Section 3).

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including your account
• Diagnose and fix bugs and crashes
• Understand usage patterns so we can improve the Service
• Communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, which may collect and process data on our behalf:

• Google Analytics / Firebase — usage analytics, to understand how the Service is used.
• Sentry — crash and error reporting, to help us diagnose and fix issues.

These providers may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data under their own privacy policies. We do not use these services to serve advertising.

4. Data retention and deletion

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and associated personal data at any time from within the app, under account settings. Once deleted, your personal information is removed from our active systems, except where we're required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Aggregated or anonymised usage data that can no longer identify you may be retained.

5. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for use by parents/guardians who are 18 years or older, who may create child profiles within the app to manage their family's screen time and chores. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through open account registration. Information about a child (such as a name entered into a family profile) is provided by the parent/guardian account holder, who controls and can delete that data at any time.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app, or by contacting us using the details below.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or by email, and update the "Last updated" date above.
